New Town Chinatown

If you end up near Pender & Main St. in downtown Vancouver you should do yourself the favor and order up some of the amazing Apple Tarts at New Town Bakery & Restaurant. A staple in Vancouver's Chinatown district, this restaurant is a real gem. Be sure to also have a taste of the Curried Beef Bun or the Baked BBQ Pork buns, seriously amazing food.

The apple tart recipe originally comes from the Hong Kong Cafe in Vancouver where it then moved to the Ovaltine Cafe. The recipe has now found its way to New Town Bakery in Chinatown along with the very hard to find deep fried sticky rice, a super greasy and delicious chinese delicacy that cannot be found anywhere else in the city.
